Merit and Hannah’s journey to Possum Kingdom Lake began long before they moved there full-time. His wife grew up going to the lake, and when they started dating in high school, weekends were often spent traveling between Possum Kingdom and Stephenville. Over the years, the lake became a place filled with memories—none more special than the day they got engaged on top of Hell’s Gate, one of its most iconic landmarks. When COVID hit, they decided to plant their roots at the lake, becoming full-time members of the community. That choice changed everything, allowing them to fully embrace the laid-back yet vibrant lake lifestyle. Their deep connection to Possum Kingdom fuels their passion for helping others create their own lasting memories in a place that means so much to them.

When Merit isn’t working hard for his clients, he’s usually out on the water, teeing off at The Cliffs golf course, or enjoying a laid-back evening with his wife and their mini Aussie, Bentley. A true lake dog, Bentley loves boat rides, playing on their lily pad in Hell’s Gate, and meeting new friends. Merit also enjoys sharing Possum Kingdom with others—whether it’s surfing, exploring trails, or hosting a backyard cookout.
